In the developing world, the distribution of healthcare services is highly uneven among the population, and urban and rural regions. The need for non-governmental organisations to reach those most in need in rural and remote communities is vital.
The story becomes even more complex in indigenous territories where the lack of healthcare facilities and poor infrastructure inhibit every effort to provide basic healthcare services and achieve development goals.
Anywaa Survival Organisation realises that no single organisation could provide vital healthcare services, which is why we work closely with authorities to implement health programmes that serve indigenous peoples in remote areas.
